During this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Techno unveiled its first foldable phone, the Tecno Phantom V Fold. The company has now announced that it will produce the Tecno Phantom V Fold in India as part of the Make in India campaign. The phone is already in production at Techno’s Noida plant, which has the capacity to manufacture 24 million smartphones annually. The Tecno Phantom V Fold is the first phone in India to feature the Dimensity 9000+ processor.
In India, the Tecno Phantom V Fold will be available in two variants – one with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and the other with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The phone will be offered in black and white colors, and its first sale is scheduled for April 12 on Amazon India. The initial price of the phone will be Rs 77,777.
The Tecno Phantom V Fold boasts a unique feature of folding from left to right, making it the world’s first foldable smartphone with this folding mechanism. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor with an AnTuTu score of 1.08 million, dual sim support, and a dual 5G processor. The phone features an Ultra Clean 5-lens camera system with a primary lens of 50 megapixels, and two front cameras. However, the company has not yet revealed all the features of the phone.
In addition to the Tecno Phantom V Fold, Techno has also launched the Tecno Spark 10 Pro and the MegaBook S1 laptop at MWC 2023. The Tecno Spark 10 Pro is a selfie-focused phone with a 32-megapixel front camera and MediaTek Helio G88 processor. It also has a dual flashlight and a steri glass and glossy finish on the back panel.
